Abstrak

This article explores the historical significance of the First Turcological Congress held in Baku in 1926, marking its centenary, with a specific focus on the activities and tragic fates of the 11-member delegation from Uzbekistan. Furthermore, the article reflects on the stillunrealized
goal of absolute alphabetic unity among modern independent Turkic states and emphasizes Uzbekistan's historical debt to host the Second Turcological Congress, a vision originally proposed by the delegates a century ago.
